Just talked to Bob on the phone. He asked if the perf might be an upgraded (SSEi) thing.

My SLE and SSEi are both perforated.

We may have the answer to the question here.

A couple more 96'* and 97-99 to compare to would be nice.

i have the perforated on my SLE too
FYI the pic of the 96 door panels are a SSEi

could have asked this a few weeks ago so boosty and I could have sat there and compared door pannels ?? Or even at the Pgh meet.

I have no good pictures. If there is a difference I would have to bet its something very small and insignificant.

The center door panel seems to be different. They all need more wood trim though.

heres some notes my camera isnt the best quality just so you know. yes the little section right above the armrest is perforated as pat sadi earlier. long story short mine look indentical to the 97'* pics earlier in the this thread.

oh and pat how many people here know me as mike

i've been in plenty at the yard and never noticed a difference. it must be very minor.

We need a side by side comparison of a 96 to a 97-99 sometime.

There is a difference in part numbers.

Are both parts still available?

I am thinking it could be a simple change. Even something we can not see. Say like a change in structure on the back of the panel itself. Maybe the 96 had a second tab behind the door light to screw it down whereas a newer design didn't.
