General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

I think if a new theme is put into place we should be able to select between that one and this one. I personally like these colors.

A new theme. But not just any theme, a dark one. Staring at the white-background theme while im reading is like trying to read text on a lightbulb and it hurts the eyes. I always have to adjust my monitor when I go to this site. Just gawd aweful! But, we need to give options and leave the default theme for people who still want to use it but include the other darker one if people want to switch.

I would like to contribute by orchestrating the construction of a new, dark theme if no one else wants to do it. I have a phpbb site of my own, but I only modified the default themes that I downloaded:

www.clanmob.net
here is a bonnie site with a dark theme... www.ontariobonnevilleclub.com and i toltay disagre with darkening the site i like it just the way it is, i wish the Ontario Admins would change theres to a lighter theme, forums feel less inviting when there dark ( IMO )
Not trying to start anything (as I have experience with getting important threads locked...) but white text on black in the end is harder on your eyes. Maybe not brightness wise, but in easy of reading. Overtime, this white on black strains your eyes and you get a headache.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for or not...Although I do not think this looks as clean, here is an example of how you can make the threads not get blown out or proportion when people post HUGE pics. This is one solution which someone has done in pHp.

Scroll down to post #11 and below and you will see what happens. This way all of the posts without pics stay within the window, and only the ones that have to be bigger stretch things out. You probably won't think it will look as nice, but it is a big problem.
