Silverbullet raised a question a while back on third gear being limitied to 108. Tested that and he is right. In 4th ive been up to 120 or so...old tires so i'm not quite ready to push the limit yet. Once my mods are complete i will tweak the pcm to remomve limiter and change some things like fuel tables and what not....just need to figure out how my tranny is going to handle approx 400hp without buying a bulletproof tranny...heh
Finally, someone with a 2000 that has actually tried some high speed performance driving to confirm the 3rd gear 108 mph limit.
The really annoying thing that happens is that if you're in 4th gear at say 115 mph and you nail the throttle wide open, it downshifts into 3rd gear (which should be good to 155 mph at 5500 rpm stock limit) and then the speed limiter kicks in and slows you down.
That'* my biggest beef with my Bonne.
Don't worry though, within the next couple of years as soon as I free up the exhaust, do the suspension and swap to Z rated tires, the PCM will get upgraded to eliminate my peeve. See my wish list items for specifics.

Police are forced to concede that the blowtorch really was for making crème brûlée after finding several of the desserts among the charred and smoking corpses.
WHAT is with that Rosco???

The sound of that supercharger whining loudly with ever increasing pitch as the wind noise approaches sonic levels.......

It'* intoxicating.

There is definately a 3rd gear limit, but from what I have seen it is at 110, not 108, but it could very easily supposed be 108. I have it on an Autotap log and the autotap reads 110mph when the limiter kicks in. And since the stock limit is 5800rpms it should easily be able to do ~160 in 3rd. Theoretically we should be able to hit 170 in 3rd in the GTP with the 6200rpm rev limiter, we just don't have the guts to try it out and see if it has the power. (which it should)

Well so far we haven't had any problem with the GTP. We had to put in bulletproof halfshafts because those like breaking, but the tranny seems to be fine so far. All it has is an LSD & Thrasher Shift kit set on medium, no tranny cooler or anything, but it also only has 22,000 miles on it. If you don't beat the **** out it the tranny should be able to handle a lot of power as long as it isn't all the time. If you just drive around normally and only beat on it every once in a while the tranny shouldn't have a problem because it rarely sees the high power levels. Or you could just beat the **** out it and dump 4 grand into an Intense tranny.

And so is our GTP....At 255mph. And, not knowing your mods, I would bet it is quicker than your car too.
