Default Replace steering rack? (200k 96 B-Ville, Engine and Tranny already out)

The steering rack is still the one out of the factory. I am wondering if I should replace it since it'* so easy to get to at this point. Is it worth it? Do these things tend to fail? It'* another $250 at Oreilly for a Cardone remanufactured one which kind of takes me back a little.

How difficult would it be to replace if I put the drivetrain back in?

From what I have seen when I had engines/transmission out of my 95 and 97 Bonneville, the steering rack is a bear to get out with both of them in. If nothing is wrong with it, I'd say leave it alone. For as long as I have been on here, I don't think I have ever heard of anyone having to replace one.
