I change out my Dex-Cool every 6 months regardless of mileage mixed 50/50 with distilled water. I love doing everything over kill. I also never take anything apart and put it back together without oiling the threads. Silicone grease on the plastic radiator drain plug.

Most of us on this group are anul about maintenance and using proper assembly techniques but changing the Dex-Cool every 6 months....

I recently had my system flushed and replaced the DEX with universal green...it cools so much better after the flush so I cant say if the green cools better or not..but if my intake decides to start seeping i think the green will be easier to spot on the dipstick than the orange

Tracy, I would definitely go with the Prestone Extended Life Dex-cool.

lol, That'* good Mac. I've never heard of engine failure due to fresh clean coolant. Keep up the good work.

And I would definitely do a flush while you got it empty anyways. A bottle of Prestone flush is like $4 at walmart and it certain won't hurt.
