Default Police like the 3800

I was talking to a local Sheriff officer at College and we got talking about cars. his cruiser is a Chev Lumina. I asked him "whats inside it?" he said take a look (popps the hood) a 3800 Series II. boy that was a crammed engine bay!!!! he told me the car dosent have a speed limiter and dosent have a rev limiter. he also told me that he has had the car up to 135 mph. I was like damn. glad to see our 3800 perform for the law enforcement guys

One of our local detectives drives an 00+ SSEi. It was a drug seizure.

I've seen Impala cops with the L67. Quite a sleeper.

Lumina with a 3800? was that a one-off custom? or were they made like that for law enforcement?

I have watched old episodes of COPS where some of the cruisers were 88 Royales and Bonnevilles

Our department here is going with Impalas to replace Crown Vics

Oh, so not only does law enforcement love the 3800, so do drug dealers.

Yeah, I've never heard of a 3800 in a Lumina. Nice of him to pop his hood for you. Wish more cops around here were cool like that.

Most likely. The major law enforcement cars (Luminas, Crown Vics, Impalas, etc...) are a special package soley for that purpose. So, they do stuff like mess with the suspension, make adjustments so that equiptment can be wired in and such, so I bet that the 3800 in the Lumina was part of a law enforcement package.

Yeah I volunteer sometimes with our police department and those Crown Vics ride QUIET. until you punch it that is LOL. I wonder where we could find out if the H-Bodys were offered as a law enforcement vehicle PER SE and what special equipment was offered....

I second that. When cops are in a rush to get somewhere I turn my head at the sound they make when they floor it.

Its nice of them to put the most noticable park lights/turn signals on the crown vics... They give the car away too easly.
