i belive they are rated for 5k/ 10kWD. look at the towing sites and FSC, maybe its the up north ones that get soft. ive read it a bunch of places though. my factory hitch was rusted to crap and the fool left the 2in ball hitch in and its permanently rusted to the receiver. so i had to get one that was rated high enough for my car trailer without WD bars anyway, hopefully you had them if not and something happened you could get in serious trouble. just because you can doesnt mean you should.

It was a camper trailer so yes, I had the WD bars on. The heaviest I've towed without bars was my buddies 24 ft pontoon.

I assume you're talking about the stuff around the bed? If so, paint it like I did!

Look like trucks to me! They're also more capable off-road from the factory than a Silverado due to their coil-spring suspension instead of leaf'*. Silverado'* can tow more factory though. But, put bags in either one and they'll tow more than you'll need.

I drove one a little over a year ago. It was an extended cab, 4x4, with the 5.3L V8. That was a real fun truck to drive. Not only the power, but it felt like a real nice truck to drive. I'm not sure what the I5 is like in those trucks.. apparently they have a slightly rough idle, but they have tons of torque for that size truck. One thing I did notice though.. the one I drove had the base stereo, which had the same deck as my friends' 2002 Impala...
