Didn't read past 3 down...so here'* my list.

Want a Chevy truck that'll pack a nice sound system?
2003-2006 Crew Cab Silverado. You can fit 2 12'* under the rear seat just fine, and they'll pound like crazy. I got my 2004 for just over $10k
2003-2006 Avalanche. You can either put 2 12'* under the rear seat OR you can replace the back wall and I think put 3 12'* back there. Pound'* like crazy. Same price
You could get a 98+ Blazer/Jimmy or a Trail Blazer. Fill the whole backside that way, you won't be able to tow much though if you care about that. Depending on year and options, you'll find your wanted price range.

If I think of anymore I'll put more.

X2 on what travis said, ill just add the 3.9 is fine for reliability too but you get extra power and less fuel efficiency. i think the 3.5 is the better compromise between the two.

A 2007+ Avalanche/Suburban, Tahoe, Silverado, Sierra is gonna be outside your price range. Unless you get a WT, single cab, short bed Silverado.

2003-2006 is gonna be your honey pot for one of those. An Avalanche/CC Silverado is almost identical. Main difference is the Avalanche has a bed similar to a step side (flat walls because of the "saddle bags), and you can make the bed on the Av 8ft when you fold the wall down. Same motors (5.3L, 6.0L, 8.1L), same transmissions, same rear ends, etc.

I used to own an AV and I'm still very involved with that community. I also own a Silverado now. If you decide on one of those and have any question you can ask. JW also has a GMT400 Tahoe so he knows a good chunk too.

i have to work on everybody elses crap too you'd be surprised what i get to know. my dad, my uncle have 04'* and my brother just got the nnbs one. plus ive had two nbs 6.0 2500hd work trucks.

like mouse says for years, you want a 5.3 or even the 4.8'* arent too bad either.

i got this yukon because it was $2500, and the nbs'* were all over 10k. and i drove my last pickup about 12k miles over the about 8yrs that i owned it, so the mileage for the 5.3 over the 350 really doesnt concern me.
