OK, I finally could bear to look at it last night and found out I could not open the trunk. Is there something I can poke or push through the pass through to open the trunk? If I get a lid with a power trunk would it be pssible to hook up to the existing latch or will I need the entire assembly?

I know exactly how you feel man. They made sure to ruin my car during that process :( Deal with it and move on. It does no use to dwell on it. Best advice I can give; sorry to hear it man :(
