Now why would you want to go and say a thing like that?
Just think of all the things that were 'ok' for you, but once emissions start that chip in the windshield, that slight exhaust leak, the low coolant light set because of a faulty sensor, are all going to have to be replaced for you to pass.

becasue the day I worte the post I was driving down the main street or one of the main streets here in town and at one point there were 4, yes 4 cars blowing insane ammounts of grey/white smoke. If you come here at night you will find out that 1/3 of the cars have a busted headlight and 3/4 of them have a serious accident or problem with the car/truck.

I would hate to have to go thru but when you live on a main street and have to breathe the burning oil/smoke of every 12th car that has a blown headgasket you might understand.

Worked for that emissions company. Being in the corporate office if you pay any attention what you find out is this.

A state like CT has emissions testing. No safety check..broken headlight wouldn't even be looked at....or a huge rust hole. They only test OBD II connector or tailpipe if you are before OBD II.

The test is 99% INaccurate. You could pass with a blown anything and fail with a brand new car. Biggest thing that fails a car up here is a gas cap not ventilating properly. It'* the biggest waste of money for people...but the Fed won't give funding w/o a clean air program if your state has bad air quality.

One night I noticed that mine were out. One was burned out, and the other...was completely gone....just a bit of plastic where the bracket used to be....i didn't see any wires or anything.
