Why not drive up in the 94 and make the deal. Then see if the dealer will deliver it and pick up the sebring with their dealer plate. that way you aren't driving it unregistered and you only have to make the trip once.

I'll most likely drive the 94. I don't want anything happening to the Sebring or else I'm screwed. But he can't and probably won't give me a solid trade-in value without seeing the Sebring.
I just called Jeff at the dealer. He is holding it for me to see it Thursday morning. I offered to put $90 down to hold it but he said he'd hold it for me without it. The trip should be 3 hours. I wouldn't make the trip if I wasn't almost positive I wanted it.

I didn't even ask if it needed to be registered...honestly, he seemed to be in a crabby mood. Not as friendly as he was last week when I called him. I didn't want to annoy him with more questions.

I don't think I'll have any issues, not like I had (am having) with the other one anyway.
I should bring the Sebring up when I go Thursday though, because he'll need to see it in order to give me an appraisal.
Even if I were to register it in CT beforehand, it would take WEEKS before I got the title, which would seriously delay this whole thing. So hopefully the guy does not care. I should probably ask though.

Regardless of what you get, what about mentioning that you're selling the 94? I wonder what they could work out on two trade-ins? I know you still owe on the 94 but if the numbers were right....
Just a thought.

Walter, that one was checked out already, JimmyFloyd went yesterday.
And to clarify, he technically doesn't owe anything else on the 94 SSEi (its complicated, but not really an issue) with respect to financing etc.

I'm not sure how two trade-ins would work since he'* in NH. They'd have to pic up one of the cars somehow, and appraise them in person. The distance definitely makes things complicated. I hope driving up Thursday shows this guy that I'm obviously a serious buyer and he won't mind taking an unregistered car when I explain the situation. Hopefully I can get things done in one day. That would be sweet.
Plus the 94 is great besides the one unibody issue and I'd hate to lose it due to a trade-in. I'd rather have a club member buy it if I was not going to keep it myself.
