Pull your lower intake manifold gaskets out of there and look at them. You'll understand then.

why would I pull the gaskets out when everything is fine and there are NO problems in 200k plus miles ? I dont get it ...

And I pulled apart another L36 with only about 30k on it. I have the gaskets here right now, and they're no better than those above.

What is the recommended alternative? Is the crap I buy at the big box stores going to cause the same problems? Thanks beforehand for the advice.

I guess im just lucky then, between my car now and the one before that I have over 350k miles and NEVER had a problem ... Again the Bonnie I have now has 212k on the orignal waterpump . go figure...

are you guys recomending to tear it down even if there are NO problems ? My coolant level never goes down . Isn't there any warning signs wen a tear down is nessasary ? And what are you replacing the coolant with the green stuff ??

if I should need to do a change is there a post anywhere that tells blow by blow every step to do it myself and what parts I shoudl get and from who ? If so I will save it and keep it on file in case I need to do a repair. But for now I don't have any leaks or issues. Thanks

is all the red coolant Dex Cool ? I think what I used when I chgd coolant was in a silver gallon jug and was red, dont know if it said Dex Cool or not ?? I hought all the red was Dex
