Default Getting started on my spring project.

Just about got everything I need for my spring project now. Only need a few gaskets and I'm set.

Today I got a new M90 supercharger.

I started pulling it apart right away

Removed the snout

Then the rotors.

I plan on porting the intake

Porting the outlet, removing the H bar, and welding the silencer slits shut. Hey, I want this thing to scream and I want everyone around to know it.

The rest of the project.

I've started porting the LIM, just need to finish it. The heads will be ported. I'm going to cut down the fuel rails so they no longer go over the supercharger. This way I can install a intercooler without problems. I'm also planning to install a CAM. As it looks right now, the heads and CAM will have to wait till fall or next spring. The rest should be done this spring.

Nice!, one question. I can see smoothing the outlet, but wouldn't porting it reduce pressure? If it was going to such as a holding tank, just for grins, then it wouldn't matter. But it'* a nonstop flow. I am questioning the logic because I worked at a plant where we used roots blowers to provide bubbles in plating tank solutions non-stop. When ever we increased the outlet pipe diameter, we lost efficiency.

are the circled pieces the silencers? if so how would one go about fixing that... i hate people asking if its really supercharged and then making the comment that they cant hear it so it much not be boosting much and then walk off laughing...

also how small of a pulley should i go with a stock lower motor... i have 155000 miles on it but i dont wanna HAVE TO rebuild it... just a lil more boost (will replace the head gaskets when i get a smaller pulley... just how small should i go?)

awesome spring project btw... will wanna do that eventually

Ok, venom, it will all make sense after I explain. Pressure is not your friend when boosting. Pressure is heat, heat is KR, KR is less timing, and that is less power. So let'* say I can move 1 pound of air threw a hole with 15 pounds of boost. Now I open that hole up and now I can move that same 1 pound of air with 10 pounds of boost. Same flow, less boost stack. That'* why you put bigger valves, or a larger cam or rockers. It makes a bigger hole. Same with headers.

Yes, those are the silencer ports. closing them off will make the supercharger whine much louder.

As for your pulley. Ack, your a series 1. That I'm not sure of. I think 1993 sle knows what you can use.

Don't worry, I'll post updates. I'm already able to boil my tires, What'* it going to be like after this? I think I can get some 265s on my car. Boy, my transmission is going to love me.

After your maiden journey after you've done all the work, your Bonny will probably be left sobbing in the garage and whimpering to be left alone for awhile.
