Default Finally put the first 50 miles on my SSE

Well today was the day that I finally got to drive my SSE home, for those that didn't see my introduction thing it can be found here: http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=85681

but long story short, bought a beat up SSE, fixed countless problems, had the transmission rebuilt, steering rack replaced, replaced 2 wheels, had the front end aligned and I just got to drive it home tonight! So far the transmission shifts awesome, magnasteer is pretty neat, defiantly the nicest car I've ever owned so far.

It still needs one more wheel replaced as the alignment shop found a bent rim when they were re-balancing my front tires, ended up having to replace the engine cradle when it was in the tranny shop, as the last owner hit something very stationary with the bottom of the car and bent the cradle up real nice. My only real complaint with the car is how underpowered the L36 is... then again I'm probably just used to my Lumina.

So far I'm loving it, all around good car so far!

It'* great to read you're driving the Bonneville. I had read at least a couple posts by you before, but I never realized you hadn't driven the Bonneville.

Between my 94 SSEi and the 99 SLE, the Series 1 supercharged engine beats the snot out of the NA Series 2 flat out. The 99 has just a gutted air box, but I'm sure you can do quite a bit more to get your L36 running faster. Most likely, you've noticed the plethora of L36 performance mods available here, the W body store, Intense, ZZ Performance, etc. If you really want to get that Bonneville moving faster, you absolutely can.

Congrats on getting the car up and running. What color is it? Can't really tell on my old monitor.

Replace the entire UIM and the LIM gaskets sooner rather than later. Much better to do it before something leaks and you are forced to do it. Also, get the Dex Cool out when you do it. Lots of info on this site regarding how to do it and parts to purchase. If you do it yourself, it is not to costly.

the car is black, with lots of scratches, dings and dents.

from what I'm told the car had the intake gaskets changed at least once in its life so far, i'm no stranger to that job at this point, I figure, get the revised intake gaskets, a smaller EGR stovepipe, new coolant elbow, and a new plastic upper intake and I won't ever have to worry about it again. However I'm going to be putting dex back in when i do that job, but I will probably flush the entire cooling system sooner then that, it needs it bad.

I just love how nice this car rides, it is defiantly a higher quality of GM then what I'm used to.
