The SSEi has 93,794 miles on it, and the other rear window broke today. It will now not stay up anymore. It is pretty rediculous in my opinion that this happens to the rear windows in these cars, especially since they are never used, and aren't even 4 years old yet. We will not be repairing this window to work like we did the other one when it broke, we will be using a screw to hold it up like another member (can't remember exactly who) said they did. I think this problem needs to be brought to GM'* attention if it hasn't already, so the bonnevilles produced in the future won't have this problem.

I also think the instructions on how to fix the window problem should be put in the tech info for all to see, since it is obviously a common problem.

Yes this seems to affect the 01-03 as well :(
Its the cable that breaks, even when its not used its under preasure and holding the window up. Over time it gets weak and breaks, also I think slamming the door may be a factor?
I have a c-clamp holding the window up on the passenger rear in hopes of finding the right cable to replace it.

That helps, except it is gonna take me an hour to be able to see the pics (damn dial up). There was someone that posted instructions with no pictures on how to put a screw below the glass to hold it up. I will search for it and see if I can find it. Your post DEFINATELY helps though. Thanks.

That stinks, hasn't happened to me yet. knock on wood. Wish GM would do something about it, my Aurora had cronic power window regulator motors burning out, went through 3 with in rear 2 doors.

we just talked to someone the other day that had this happen to them. We also found out the hard way about a design flaw in the 4T65-E tranny that doesnt allow it to get enough fluid to a certain part of the tranny.

This problem is very annoying. Luckily i had it happen to me on the driver side while under warranty. 2 weeks ago...it happened on the passenger side. Driver side had been replaced 2x under warranty. 56k miles....only problem so far the windows. Tho got it fixed for 250$ and a 18 pack this last time. Lots better then the dealership and professionally done just the same. Car will revist the guy in the spring time to get hood repainted, dark ghost flames on the fender/hood, and a buff all around.

Well my roommate just got his chevy 1500 back with them on it. It'* red and they used gold pearl for the flames. Covers the hood and both fenders but is visible in the right light. Pretty noticable when noticable tho. I have a black ssei....and the guy that lays them out before being painted has a black extreme with a purple pearl type. They're only noticable when the sun is shining on them at certain angles def not as much as the 1500 tho. Time consuming to lay them out i'm sure tho...lays them out with 1/8" tape....that'd take foreeeevver. I'll post some pics of the truck and my car once done.
