Default Amsoil?

Does anyone use Amsoil on here? What is your thoughts on it? Considering there is a 25,000 mile oil change they provide.it has to be top notch.

Never used it. But I would never go 25k miles between oil changes. Dont really take the word for it on the bottle.

I use mobil 1 fully synthetic high mileage. Its either a 5000 or 7500 mile distance for oil changes it says. But I still do it every 3000 miles, despite what they say. Its just how I am.

All Engines produce carbon by products in their daily use. Idling is even worse.
Why would anyone want to risk a dirty oil & filter to even 10,000 miles is beyond me.
I also use mobil 1 syn and change it at 4000 miles.
I want my engine clean and confidence to know the friction modifiers are up to "speed" !

regular valvoline at walmart, and a delco filter has been about 20 bucks forever. doing it every 5k and running all my vehicles to 2 to 300k over half a dozen or so of my dd vehicles and have never had a wear related engine problem

the gm recommended service interval is 7500 highway, so i figure 5k is low, 3 or 4k is the old stuff, has been i think since 90'*

Probably going to try at least the oem full synthetic because it has been rated #1in synthetics for over 30 years.and a third party did a test with it and several other "full synthetic" oils.amsoil ranks up at the top

how much are these synthetics? they are costly and i dont see the benefit. i keep track of every tank and all of the cars i bought fairly new and it got the same or better mileage up until 2-300k. the only time i saw a mileage drop was one time synthetic high mileage was on sale so i tried it in my bonnie and the 03 monte i had at the time and both ran like crap and lost two mpg

This may be for his 2012 sonic VVT. If so here is the approved list of other brands you can use that meet the Dexos certifications.
dexos1 Brands | GM
Gm wants u to use the Dexos semi-syns for warranty purposes.

Edit: You will not find Amsoil on the above Dexos list !
Amsoil does not meet Dexron VI transmission fluid either :http://www.gmpowertrain.com/VehicleE...DEXRON-VI.aspx
