Of course, so far all we have to go by are 2 '97s, lol.

Anyone else?
Maybe we should tinker with it tomorrow if you have time?
Sounds good to me! Then we can report back here to compare our findings and maybe see if it'* '96-99 related or Actron 9145 related.

While the topic is about seeing things on the Actron 9145.. I'd like to toss more into the mix.

I hooked up my Autotap to Cfootes 96 one day and only got what I called the "standard" OBDII information instead of the full GM information. While my thoughts about what I saw may not be correct, I saw less than 1/2 the amount of data seen when I hook up to my 97. I hooked up to iSarahI'* 2001 and saw the same amount as my 97.

Cfootes car was running a refurb stickered PCM.

I will check mine to see if I can find a "refurb" sticker as well.

BTW the reason behind my posting my findings is that there may be some other correlation as to why we aren't seeing much data on some cars....

Agreed. A scantool may not be able to fully read the perameters of a refurbed PCM. It is definitley worth it for me to check mine. Either way, we can confirm or eliminate another piece of the puzzle.

All depends on how much you want to spend. Like I mentioned in your other thread, do a search on "scantool" and see the many discussions that have occured here and it will give you a good idea of variety and pricing. The Auto X-ray is probably the next most inexpensive "true" scantool after the Actron. There are many lap-top run versions taht provide excellent data, but may be out of your price range. The ultimate is probably a Tech II, but those will run you a couple of thousand $.

Talking to Bob, I did a quick search and came across the possible answer

http://www.autoxray.com/dnload/KettReport.pdf

Found the Actron 9145 information at the top of page 12 to be very interesting.

"Scanner will not read any OBDII enhanced data"

OK, I just read the whole article, which frankly, seemed to have been written by an Autoxray technician, IMO.

So now the question I have is;
Did GM change certain types of data to "enhanced data" when they went to OBD2, that was previously available in OBD1? It would seem so.

Second question;
Will Actron support or upgrade the 9145 to access the "enhanced data".
