40 minutes my butt! I had 2 guys stop by me and ask me how long it took me.(this was right after I sent that picture Bill) I told them about 2 hours and they just about fell on the ground.

No thanks Bill, trannies are a PITA to swap out. I would rather do engines all day long vs trannies.

I can have a transmission out in 2 hours. It'* less work then pulling an engine.

Upgrading to an L67… cool. Why not really go for the gusto and try a top swap?

The only down side to doing a top swap is tuning. Can't just do it and drive. Where as a engine swap you can swap PCMs and drive. I did a L26 bottom and top swapped it. Tuning wasn't to hard. Then go up between .2 and .4 on pulley size to compensate for higher compression.

Top swap? I had thought about it, but decided not to. I can't really trust my bottom end right now. Like I said, i'm suprised my current engine is still running and not knocking.

Oh, BTW Dan, wife put me in the dog house the other night when I told her that I bought HpTuners for the sum of $499. (why does it take so long to ship an order!!!!)

After all this is done, she may end up kicking me out of the car and into the Blazer.

My wife wasn't happy either when I got it. Do what I did. Honey, I can tune other peoples cars and make money to pay for this. Calmed her right down.

I just spent the last few hours outside removing this and that, inspecting here and there...

Working on removing accessories, pullies etc...

Got most of the stuff off, ICM bracket, alternator, etc etc...

Lower intake manifold...

Thermostat housing removed. I though there was another gasket that went in between the housing and the LIM? Either way, real clean in here. I noticed the thermostat has a checkball. You can see the little hole in the flange at the bottom of the thermostat.

Got the LIM off, and these gaskets have been changed out recently. Probably within the last few years. These are cylinder intakes for 6 and 4.

Here are cylinders 2 and 4...

Here are cylinders 1 and 3...

Here are cylinders 3 and 5...

Here is the right bank, or bank #2.

Bank #1...

I didn't get pics yet, but I did drop the oil pan and found no foreign objects in the bottom. Also did a connecting rod play check. Everything looks good so far.
That is all for now.....
