The new 04 GTP is more like the +00 Bonne'* than the 03 GTP. In fact the 04 only weighs about 100 lbs less than the Bonne. 3700 vs 3800 lbs.
That would explain why the 04'* are slower than the 03'*.

Possibly the only 03'* that Rice burning Maxima beat were Normally Aspirated.
I like the way you think.

Methinks your friend does not know how to drive.

A 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 (Ram Air) has 325 hp @ 5200 and 350 lb-ft. of tq @ 4000. It does 0-60 mph in 5 seconds flat and averages 13.45 seconds in the quarter mile. Stock, they easily outrun an old 300ZX twin-turbo. Even Nissan'* 350Z - with 287 horsepower vs. the Maxima'* 255 (both from the same 3.5L engine) - has no hope of catching a WS6. It won't even catch a base Trans Am.

No my friend hits 13.5'* all day in his car, so I think he knows how to drive the car. We did this from a roll not from a dead stop. The game changes when its from a roll. I knew he would slaughter me if we took off at the light. Plus we only went up till 80 or so and quit.

We did this on I-65, there are a couple of spots when heading north that are nice & smooth. Plus I had a couple of friends ahead of me to let me know if it was clear or not & it was 3 in the morning. Thats one good thing about living in corn country alot of roads to race on if you choose to.

I've done 135 in my Acura, and it felt like I was gliding. It was the smoothest over-120 I've ever done. Although my 93 Crown Vic did 128 fairly smoothly as well. (Highway Patrol Special)

(BTW, I haven't put my Bonnie over that yet...)

That’* the retort I was expecting. So, we can agree that your friend knows how to drive his Trans Am. I even agree with you that the game changes when the cars are rolling. (Typically cars do 0-60 mph significantly faster than they do 5-60 mph). I just have a hard time getting my mind around a stock Maxima pulling on a stock Trans AM WS6 - even at 10/15 mph. A stock Maxima does, at best, a 14.5 second 1/4 mile. I am, by no means, calling you a liar; I am just stating my confusion.

Hear hear

Best I did was 230 kph on the QEW westbound in Mississauga at 3 am..other cars = pylons

Scary... fastest I've ever been in a car (keep in mind I don't drive yet ) was 170km/h in a '89 Corolla GT-* coupe my family used to have. This happened on the 400 north, south of Finch. But dang, fast stretches of major highways in our area - 401 West before the 410, by the airport (many, many lanes... saw a G35 coupe pushing it there once, OHMAGAWD THE SOUND! *in love*). Oh, and I'm thinking that the Corolla had more oomph left in it (dad backed off), even at 170km/h, yes, a Corolla

Trust me I was just as shocked. We tried doing it a couple of more times but somebody would always pull off in front of one of us. Plus when I was pulling it was minimal it wasnt like I got him by three car lentghs. I think by the time I let of it was maybe to my door.

I have a friend who has a brand new 2003 Maxima Sport Edtion with full racing suspension and about 350hp under the hood. His spedometer reads about a buck 60. His took a pretty nasty curve going about 70 mph and that is where the full racing suspension kicked in and he went around it fine as if he was going 35. The brand new GTP'* are really nice looking cars. Plus with the series 3.8 and supercharger option that u can get, I think that is awesome.
