According to the cop, my car has $2000-$3000 of damage.

Needs:

bumper, Trunk Lid, Exhaust pipes and tips, he said the bumper and trunk lid, new from GM and painted (normal body shop way) are at least $2000.

The rear quarterpanel has a minor crinkle that is very hard to see, the cop mentioned this could mean subframe damage and it will easily be tottaled out.

I dont think so, all i need is new lights on the bumper and paint it, I might need to bend the trunk lid by sitting on it.

The driver of the 97 neon was not as lucky, the car was white as well.

They said she had a pretty bad head injury from her head hitting the windshield and possible spinal injuries.

WOW, these cars hold up really well to impact! It just looks like bunch of surface scratches, it barely looks like anything structural. Good luck with that Hans!

The intersection just 1 mile down on bluelakes is the busiest intersection in idaho, its normal to be stuck in traffic as I was, there are constant accidents on the road.

here is the exact place where I was hit, I was waitnig at the intersection in the photo...falls ave and blue lakes and got smashed there...I think thats tracy shotgun in a girly color car, I think the driver is known as bob..

I think the AL7s prevented me from having a more serious back injury. the soft large headrests dont feel to bad when your head hits them at a high rate of speed.

I've already located a scratched white bumper off a 93 sse in salt lake city utah..and a trunklid, price for all parts is 300 bucks + the cost of painting, I can install myself and even bring the parts in to get sprayed.

I'm seriously tempted to sell my 93 and use the check and the cost of what I can get for the 93 to buy this:

maybe dreaming, but a 2000 with low miles for 7 grand? not bad.

Holy ****! It was STOCK BOB that hit you?

Hans, get independent estimates when the insurance game starts. YOU have the right to pick your shop. Pick the highest estimate of the 3, and ask for a check. I've done this myself. Then do the work yourself.

When I rear ended a Caddy, I came out ahead by buying the big dollar items on eBay.

WOW, that defintaly only looks like someone in a parking lot bumped you a couple - 17 times, aside fomr the trunk misaligned!

Glad to see you not worse off than you were
Good luck with everything

P.*. If you get rid of your '93, you'd have enough $ to spare if you just gave it to me right?

j/k

damn man. you best not be buying and lottery tickets anytime soon. Glad to see you are ok and the car car is relatively ok. If the trunk opens and closes normal, check to see if the latch at the trunk is not just pulled up. Also, did the buler crack anywhere? if not and it'* all just stress cracked paint, just get that one re-painted. You'll need to get a new(used) inner bumper AND bumper pistons. You won't want to re-use the old ones cause there is a chance they could fail if something like this should happen again (don't press your luck) And about the crinkle in the gas door area, I couldn't tell if there was from the picture, but that could mean something is tweaked slightly, but the car should be fine to drive and all that (ask harofreak about a certain parking lot curb incident) The lights obviously you know those should be replaced if cracked. And for the exhaust(minus tips) that should have enough movement to withstand it, but listed for the connection to the rear manifold to make sure it isn't leaking or anything. The tip you can just replace with aftermarket.

With all that being said, I wish you lived closer. I have EVERYTHING you would need to fix that in the house right now, and in the right color.

Also, this is a good time to swap to the 96-99 trunk and tails.

Hope things work out, and get as much as you can. That 2000 look like a decent price, just check out the leg room in it.

Keep mind that Hans has a fairly uncommon shade of white.
