In Regards to 'Kill Stories'

It has come to my attention that the members who are most integral to BC'* 'high level of functioning'...i.e., those who've been around a while and know their B-ville stuff...are NOT the ones in support of Kill Stories. BC is a one-of-a-kind site...whereas other 'kill forums' are a dime a dozen. The stakes are high here, people...do we really want to have this blemish on BC? Even if it is a small and manageable blemish, it is still a blemish nonetheless.
I'm ready to vote on the issue. I've already made up my mind.
Although I am in support of a general 'campfire stories' area, having to do with cars, posts that describe street racing and how great and cool and fun it is shouldn't be allowed on BC, period. Not only is in encouraging a problem, but it doesn't present the other side of street racing; the fact that it is dangerous to you and others, the fact that it'* illegal, it damages your car, and you could destroy yours or someone else'* property.
I'm ready to vote on the issue. I've already made up my mind.

I'm willing to give "On the Road" a test run...
We have to try something...if it works it works, if it doesn't then we lose a forum, but it will take co-operation amongst the members to ensure the revised forum doesn't degrade again.

I made a recent trip to CA (last week) due to a death in the family. On the way South, I usually like to hook up with another car. 4 eyes are better than one, and it'* good to have bait sometimes, too.
I overtook a Caddy CTS just south of Eugene (about 40 minutes into the trip). I noticed him checking my interior for Radar, and noticed he had it too. We nodded, and linked up for the trip to, and over, the Siskiyou summit. That'* an impressive car.
Sadly, I developed an intermittent miss on one cylinder, and didn't want to stop to diagnose. I wanted to get there at a reasonable hour, and didn't even leave here 'til 3:30pm. The CTS stuck with me until I stopped for gas in Redding, CA. He pulled in too.
He was quite impressed, and quickly asked what the hell was up. Seems he used to own a 92 SE, and it 'didn't have that kind of pull'. I showed him the difference, then explained that I was running on probably 5.5 cylinders the whole trip. He was most impressed.
There'* nothing like good boost for hill-climbing, especially at those altitudes. That CTS would have cleaned my clock on the flats, but not in the passes, even with an intermittent miss.
I diagnosed my miss the next morning as a #3 wire shorting out on my dipstick tube. Good Taylor wire gone south. You don't want to see the redneck fix that got me back home

I read the post in question and that was definetly "on the road" and I for one did not see one once of street racing. He just did what any SMART driver would do and stay with another car so you can both look out for cops and also as bait. I do the same thing as much as possible. Actually I think I feel a post coming on for that section.

This story placed emphasis on 'partnering' with another car for mutual safety. Driving in this manner also has the added benefit of keeping you alert, and not dozing off on long trips.
