No, at the time you had TOO cold of plugs. They were fouling. You had a stock pulley and ALOT of porting. That'* why I suggested stepping back to the TR55'*. I can run TR55'* in the winter, but not in the summer.

You have the smaller pulley now, but with all your porting and rockers, I doubt you really need TR6'* even now.
Ahh...err...

1994ta, I was using ~.057 with my 55shot and otherwise stock engine. Any better luck with the no-nitrous acceleration today? Have you had a chance to check your plugs?

hmm.. my gap was .050" when I pulled all 6 today, which is exactly what i gapped them at yesterday before trying the nitrous. The plugs look a lot more tan today than they did yesterday. And according to all the books, a tan color is normal, so i dont know whats going wrong here. I pulled the codes and I got an Electronic Spark Control circuit and MAF sensor circuit. That could be part of the reason it isn't running its best.. but when I went out today before pulling the codes, I closed the bottle, let all the nitrous out of the lines and activated the switch letting just fuel spray into the intake at WOT and the engine performed normally, like normal acceleration, but it still pinged. WTF?! It'* getting EXTRA fuel and it starts to ping.. I really don't get it and I'm starting to hate my life. LOL. The plugs don't look that great, so im throwing another set in anyway, but i doubt it will fix anything. You were right before, I do need a scanner :(

Meh, issues like this go with modding an engine. Just part of the game I guess....

The pinging is strange because of the capacity the PCM has to compensate. Are you absolutely sure its detonating? Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and see how that affects it.

Other than that, clean your MAF, this might go along with my "I didn't like the idea of spraying some below zero temperature gas across a heated element. I especially don't like the idea of adding gas into the mix" statement, but I dunno. Take a REALLY good look at the elements too.

1994TA -wouldn't a Jet stage II chip really help with your setup?
Wouldn't more timing help (a benefit of the Jet)? Also, how old is your o2 sensor, and if it was replaced what brand?
Have you scanned for codes?
How about an A/F or EGT guage to monitor, and help detect true KR.
Also, here is a guage I'd suggest for those who are boosted and doing mods.
Here'* the manufacturer'* website:

I tried the unplugging the MAF trick.. but it didnt help any. I didnt try running nitrous through with it unplugged though, just the fuel. I'll try cleaning the MAF tomorrow and make sure the element is still intact. I'm almost positive it'* pinging. It just makes a noise like a ton of bb'* are being thrown around inside the engine... thats pinging right?

Thats a sweet gauge in the last post btw but it'* for OBDII cars.. I don't think I want to run the Jet chip simply because advancing timing with nitrous is a no-no, you usually want to pull timing.

yeah, serious KR. I will never forget that sound from when I melted the JE pistons in my old Shelby Lancer clone trying to run 18 psi boost with underdog injectors. (Stupid 19 yo'*).
Did you put the new plugs in yet?
Check the old plugs over closely. Do any have cracks in the porceloin(spellcheck)?
How about the plug wires -have you tested them to see if you might have a bad wire(*)?

It sounds like more of it'* getting flooded by the extra fuelk hitting the cylinders? I'm not up on the NOS setups......Really wouldn't mind tinkering with one though...

no, i wont have the plugs until later this week. The wires look alright, and i just checked the plugs and theres no sign of cracking on the porcelain, but almost like its starting to flake off on the darkest one.

They arent fouled, they arent blackened at all.

Now.. should I go for colder plugs yet? I'm thinking about ordering some NGK TR8'* (4 ranges colder). Because of the smaller pulley and added nitrous, it might need it, but I thought I'd ask first. Or should I consider a custom tune to try and fix that WOT problem?
