hi gus, i gave the wrong info in post one. they had replaced the drivers switch not the module. sorry for the wrong info.

Default driver door module
happy to report that my bonneville seems to be repaired. purchased a used drivers door module from c&h auto salvage in ridgely tn. for $50. thanks to everybody who took the time to help solve my problem. gmforum is an excellent site for car repairs and info.
