It looks good as a code reader but $250 is a bit much. For a few dollars more you could have a scanner (autotap) which would give you greater funtionality.

The price i would be paying is 199.99 in Canadian dollars,Its on sale at a local store $279 usd for the actron would be like almost 500 Canadian after taxes though.

That'* the exact puppy that I have and carry always in my trunk.
It works great.
Reads all the codes and clears the SES light and resets the codes.
It only cost me $110. at Canadian Tire last year when it was on sale.

Like most products, the price is set by supply and demand.
It'* well worth $200. IMO
An AutoTap will cost more than twice as much Cdn.
