High beam "activator?" not working. Switch and rod
Hey, at least you guys have your low beams. When the high beam switch failed in my 91 Lumina, it failed with the high beams on. Took some modifications to the low beam bulbs (cutting the notch out) to get them to fit in the high beam harness, to at least get home to replace the switch.

^^^ the same thing happened on both of my chevy corsicas. when the high beam switch went, I couldnt use the headlights at all.
edit: now that i re-read your post i guess its really not the same thing at all
I can see and access where the multifunction lever pushes this peice. I can see and have access to the "stopper" so you dont push it to far. I just cant for the life of me find this spring you are referring to.

Yes.!
What gets me.... is how the thing fell out t begin with.....
When it'* all together... there'* just enough room to have a little clearance.
With mine, it fell out as I was disassembling the column, and paying attention,
to what I was doing further up. Then .......Oops! what are these parts on the floor........
" Hmmm ....Now where the H**L did that come from?? "
Another half hour wasted, trying to figure out what it was,
what it was supposed to do, and how it was supposed to sit! then the PITA of trying to
keep it in place, while reassembling the unit, using only two hands...
Then, "The Awakening" .....> > > > > Masking tape!

OK spring goes and takes the shape of, the BLUE line
...the piece is oriented in the correct position here... but you are looking at the side that goes against the column
Right side of picture toward Floor....... left side towards steering wheel.
You might not see the spring, as it is up inside the "HOUSING, STRG COLUMN (Part # 46)" in the FSM.
can anyone send me this In the FSM it'*, fig 1, page 3F5A-2 it'* part # 44, and has a spring # 45 and fits inside #46. I am having the same problem with this little piece that fell out of my steering column. Thanks...
