2000 BONNEVILLE BACK UP LIGHTS
Our 2000 bonneville keeps blowing back up light fuses, they last about three days. I've checked the wires from the fuse block out to the lights all look good. I treid a rear module and the relay. could it be the back up light switch? do they have another name for it, when I called the dealer they couldn't find it in the parts list.

What is the name of the fuse that keeps blowing? The reverse lamp relay is activated from the rear integration module, which grounds the relay. That relay then controls the lighting for the backup lights. It also sends a voltage to the inside auto-dimming rear view mirror (if you have one), to shut off the dimming while in reverse. You could have an intermittent problem in the wiring for that.

This is a diagram for the backup lights. As you can see, there is not much else involved in that circuit that would blow the fuse. Without badges, yours likely is an SE. Does it have an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror? If not, it may still have the wiring run into the headliner for it that could be causing your problem. Also, if you haven't already, also check the socket for the bulbs for the backup lights, in case something has melted there.
Please turn off the caps lock. It is considered yelling.

Sorry about the cap lock. The car doesn't have the auto-dimming rear view mirror. I don't seem to be able to see the diagram you are talking about. Yes I have checked the wiring from the fuse box all the way to the tail lights, it all seems to be good. So i'm wondering if it may be the back up light switch?

Ah...well....I found out why you couldn't see the diagram. I forgot to include the link to it.
For that fuse to blow, it has to be a problem with something on that circuit, and there isn't much of anything else there. Even without the dimming mirror, you could still have the wiring for it. See if you can find another similar colored wire, at the fuse box connection, that does not go to one of the backup lamps.
