Default Tail light blackout

I was just reading the tail light blackout techinfo....and had a question.

It may sound stupid (probably due to the 12 hour shift I am on)...but am I supposed to apply the VHT nightshade paint to the inside or outside of the lens

I ask b/c it says you can use a clearcoat to make them appear shinier...but I can't picture how this would work if applied to the inside of the lens.

Thanks in advance.

Makes sense....is it possible to apply to the inside? or is the unit all sealed as I assume it is.

only problem i would see with applying to the inside is, any delamination on your current tails, the Black striped parts, would still show, and it might look kinda off. I wonder if the paint will filter the lights out too much from the inside?
Also, on the outside, u can polish the crap out of the VHT and make it look awesome.

Ryan, I'm in the middle of doing this to my 95 right now. Click on my website to see details of my 93 last year. I'm moving this to detailing and appearance right now, but before I crash, I'll post in progress pics of my 95. The last coat of satin clear is drying right now.
