tail light blackout/led conclusion
I got bored today and put on my old set of tinted ssei tail lights. I used to run Jamstrait leds for my running/brake lights. I just put on the right tinted one and changed the leds back to the regular 2057 bulb, while leaving the left one untinted with the leds. The tinted light was brighter!! I remember acg_ssei telling me they weren't a good idea for our cars because the emit the light in a more straight out pattern then all around, and boy was he right. more info on that can be found here http://bonnevilleclub.com/forum/view...&highlight=led
i used 3-4 coats of tint on my tails to cover some dust and delamination. red and yellow are still barely visible in the right light, along with clear reverse lights that were taped off.
but in conclusion, DON'T buy leds for the tail lights. I paid $30 a long time ago and finally smartened up.[/u]

Does anyone know how much of a PITA it is to take the orange out of the tails? Or tinting it red or something? Is it a pretty similar process as making clear corners? I made my rear turn signals red (gel caps) but still have the orange. The orange isn't noticeable at night though when the turn signals are on.
I'd like to have the orange part now to be red all the time. That'* my goal. Any one do this to theirs? I tried to take them apart. Looks like they are clipped together and I wouldn't have to cut anything. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I really really really want to clear out my turn signals and make them chrom-ish looking (see-thru) and then put those superwhite turn signal bulbs in them...i think it would look tight as hell. ..but i am absolutely clueless on the operation. My taillight tint is slowly deteriorating...ouch :(

What court date? Well that'* why i keep my front plate on etc... I'd LOVE to tint my tails now, but i'm at school and leaving the bulbs and stuff out in a college lot and trying to paint them outside isn't a great idea... Maybe i should hit up seth down the road and use his place...

I got ticketed for having red lights over my rear license plate. Even though they aren't noticeable with headlights on them, and the plate is still clearly visible. The cop also tried to ticket me for having a Clear cover over it, which isn't noticeable at all! He saw it when he got out of his car.
I didn't have my front plate on either, not even in the windshield. But he didn't notice
