Yea, Murdock (Drifter) did this mod many many moons ago, but his is purple and sorta flickers....in fact IIRC, the lit center portion is a neon tube back there.

Either way, its pretty cool to see.

Good luck with it Billy!

Jim.. Murdock cut out the letters from the outside and could probably change the color, I think he put a red gel lense in there.

This way is to not cut the letters. But merely remove the plastic from behind them.

I'm still having an issue that looks like delam around the letters..however a little nightshades and clearcoat should solve that.

R&D test 1 is almost complete... #2 soon to come.

Resurrecting before this is too old.

So far I cleaned the plastic out from behind the letters.
Put together an LED string (thanks Rob) using that one string for running lights at one brightness and brake lights at another brightness.
Mounted the LEd board into the tail and have reattached the plastic I cut off the top yesterday.
Today/night is seal the bottom and wire it up.
VHT nightshades is going on the outside once I am able to get the can in my hands.

Have you thought about some type of diffuser to mute the bright spots and even out the light distribution?
