Default 2007 Chevy Equinox hose question?

I need to replace this hose in a 2007 Chevy Equinox. Can someone tell what this hose is and what it does? Thanks!

Looks unhooked. Where is it coming from?

Default Hose Location

Hope this helps identify the hose. The photo shows where the hose comes from. I have no idea where it is suppose to go from there. I don’t see anything disconnected anywhere or a broken piece of where the other end is suppose to go or attach to.

How long you owned this car? Why do you think the hose needs to be replaced when you don't know what it is?

I’ve had the vehicle for a long time. I noticed the hose while changing the thermostat. The hose must have fallen on the engine at some point as the hose was melted creating a hole. When I went to move the hose to get a better look at it, since it was now hard from being burnt the end broke off.

Those look like pictures of two different engines. Guessing the first one is from the Internet and the second is yours?

I think it is the transfer case vent tube and breather, (1) in the picture is the breather and (2) is the hose:

It looks like they come assembled. GM part# 22683233 at:

I've never ordered from the second one, but have from the first and they were fine. Not a lot of places have these listed.
