Can I use acetone for a pre flush before I use the AC System flush? I want to be sure I get all the metal out of the lines and hoses. Thanks for You Harvey Lindley , Big Nick

Im Sorry I made a mistake. I was trying to post in a different group forum (TF). I have new components now a inline pan cake filter, compressor,dryer, orifice tube. I have what I think I need but I am looking for a cheaper system flush or pre-flush. I have a bottle of flush from Walmart but I think it will take a few of those. What do y'all use on a system full of shavings? Thanks Big Nick

With an orifice tube filter, I doubt you have much debris throughout the system......

Had a car come in, and the compressor launched....the orifice filter was plugged......tech put in a new compressor and orifice filter, and car was ok when it left......came back and I got it....hi pressure on high side.......

Found orifice tube plugged again......replaced it and put a pancake filter in front of the orifice tube, and never had a problem...

I put the pancake filter on but have been told I put way to much oil in it. I waisted 6 cans of r12 first now 4 cans of 134a and I have a new compressor kit coming and my new evaporator came yesterday. Ill find out if the over oiling has been my problem soon. I will keep yall posted. Thanks Big Nick

It'* possible you did. Compressors only move gas, not liquids. If all you did was put cans of freon in and no oil, then you could have starved the compressor of oil.

I said over oiled. 13oz total of oil. I put cleaned flushed components back together. And oiled each component as the manual called for compressor and dryer also.. I will know soon if that was my mistake. They tech guys are saying (7oz oil) total is plenty oil for my system. Ill let you know what happens. Thanks Big Nick
