Default Radio Shutoff Timer

2017 Chevrolet express 6.0 V8

Trying to utilize the circuit that keeps the radio on after the vehicle has been shut off, but it seems the ignition wire that goes to the radio shuts off with the key. Am I missing something?

Usually there are 2 power wires to a radio.
Battery and
Ignition.

Ignition turns on/off with the key. Battery is always powered on but the radio won't turn on unless the ignition is on. And to complicate things even further, your radio could only have 1 power wire, but the radio will turn on via the CAN bus. Basically, something is "telling" it to turn on.

What are you trying to get to this power wire for anyway?
