Default seville a/c

I have a 2000 seville the a/c has stopped working . The compressor is not locked up. A guy at the local parts store said he thinks there is a way to trick it into cycling . I have bypassed the high and low pressure switches and had no luck what can i check next .....

It would be unwise to 'trick' it in to cycling. It has stopped for a reason, it would be best to track down what that reason is.

Have you scanned for any codes? Do you have the equipment and knowledge to service the A/C system? Also, if you a scanner that can scan live data, this can also help you to see why it'* not working.

There are no hi and lo pressure switches in this system, so you can't trick it...

What it has is a pressure sensor(which can't be jumped).......if pressure is too low, voltage from the sensor will prevent the compressor from running....

Like Rjolly said, you need a scan tool capable of reading "B" codes......your everyday code reader/scanner, can only read "P" codes.....

Or another thing to do, would be to get a set of gages on the lo and hi sides of the A/C system.......pressures should be equal, and equal to or slightly higher, than ambient temp....so if outside air is 70F, hi and lo pressures should be equal(compressor is not running) to 70psi or slightly higher.......if the pressure is really low, or zero, you have found your problem....a leak.....
