Default check coolant level?

I recently had a coolant leak on my 01 STS that I could not locate. I did a pressure test and found a very small leak in my expansion tank. I replaced the tank which has the coolant level sensor built in. The check coolant level message is coming on and the tank is full. I've checked the plug and it'* plugged in. I've pulled the plug and it still comes on. Does anyone think that I got a tank with a bad sensor??

I believe you have to reset it by using a obdII scanner.

Wow is that true?

If you disconnect the sensor, with the key on(engine can be running or not), does the light go out? If it does, reconnect the sensor, and just give the sensor a light love tap with the handle of a screw driver, and see if the light goes out.....
