Default Oil Pump?

Hi everybody my car is 1996 Park Avenue Ultra 3800 SC. .Well before I left (I didnt take the PA)the PA lost oil pressure down to about 30psi then by time I got (4mile trip to doc)home it went to 20.Now it won't go over 20 and the red light comes on at idle after warmup. It'* not the gauge or sending unit malfunctioning as it'* associated with valvetrain noise(I would assume this means a case of real low pressure and not electricial) when the gauge goes red.Obviously I don't want to run it till this is fixed.Do these pumps go bad?I know they are crank driven and usually don't but...WHat about the housing for the filter any problems?Any help or ideas would be appreciated thanks.I am hoping it'* not engine related as in bearings and such.

Drain the oil and look real close. Do you see any metal in the oil? Seeing you have engine noise I would say u have a bearing going out.

Change you filter and oil. See what happens.

Your going to get valve noise because of loss of oil pressure to your lifters.

I'm assuming the pressure doesn't go back up as the RPMs increase.

how many miles are on the car? I've heard of blockage from sludge build up on the pick up screen for the oil pump causing similar thing. Before doing an oil change try running some Seafoam through it, then change the oil.

I did change the filter and added oil no help, the rpms do go up to about 30 at around 3k rpms but thats it.At idle they drop to almost 0.Also when the oil was very cold it went up to 100psi.

I should have said the pressure goes up to 30psi but no more after the intial 5 seconds cold or not.And drops to 0psi almost around 1100 rpms.

I should say the engine has 117k and just had the intake gaskets and egr tube replaced. And the oil and filter was changed twice in the last 300-400 miles.

Hi everybody. I'm new here but I've been having the same problem with a 98 lesabre. Oil pressure drops to nil after warmup. Did you guys ever figure out the problem on the park ave? If so I could really use smome advice. This ones got me stymied.
