Default Oil Pump

Why is it never mentioned to change it..I have searched and found no info on it..is it very difficult or does it never wear out?

Oil pumps do wear, just like everything else on the car -- but replacing it is a lot more involved than, say, the belt-driven power steering or water pumps. Our oil pumps are driven directly by the crankshaft at the bottom front of the engine, so you'd have to remove just about everything on the front of the engine and the front engine cover to even get a look at it.

Most procedures I've seen recommend pulling the engine to do it, since if you need a new oil pump chances are you probably need your crankshaft and bearings inspected too.
