Default GM 2.0l turbo4 with error codes p0330 and p0014

I recently purchased a 2011 saab 9-5 with 12,000 miles that has the same 2.0l turbo4 as the buick regal. The car was delivered to me with error codes p0330 and p0014 even though seller states nothing was wrong when it was shipped. The car runs fine.

Should i be concerned about major repairs?? Does engine have alot of serious issues or is this most likely an easy fix?

P0330 look slike it'* a knock sensor bank 2

P0014 is camshaft position timing over advanced of system performance.

This tells me the timing is off, perhaps a CASE learn is needed. The timing being to far advanced is likely giving knock which will, destroy the engine over time. I would suggest taking it back, tell them to do a compression test and bore scope each cylinder to make sure none of the pistons are chipped.

Thanks for the reply. The p0014 code did not come back, but the p0330 did. Is it possible that bad knock sensor triggered the p0014? What about water or old gas? The car has sat in their showroom 7 months.

the knock sensor is what adjusts if for gas. i would clear that and fill it with new gas and run that out, see what happens.

If the 0330 is coming back, it'* one of two things, then sensor is bad, or you have knock. If you have knock, the engine will destroy it'* self. Here'* a little info on what will happen if real knock continues. This thread has both a simple chipped piston, and a piston that is totally gone.

I can't bring the car back since I purchased it at saab dealer 850 miles away. Even though the car has 97% GM parts it has no warranty because it was not assembled by GM or their ownership.

lean engine is nothing to mess with, maybe you should see if they will drain the old gas and put a new tank in to start with

i had a snowmobile repair were the fools completely burned through both pistons from letting the fuel sit in it and then trying to run it

Most likely the 0014 is the problem. The 0330 is a symptom. Testing the knock sensor or replacing it will correct the problem, if, the sensor is bad. However, with the 0014 in there, it looks more like the timing is not correct and running advanced. To much timing will cause knock. Bad or old gas can as well. Being a turbo you should only run premium. I would VERY STRONGLY, suggest, you drive easy until this problem is located and fixed. Getting on it will not end well.

Took car to the Saab dealer and they started honoring warranties again somehow. Supposedly shipping the car vibrated and damaged the sensor triggering p330. When the ECM detects p330 it retards the timing which can trigger p0014. Picked up car today and will see if light stays off for good.

Saw the 2014 Chevy impala at car show this past weekend, it looks just like the same car as the 2011 Saab 9-5. This Chevy was a very very cool looking car!! It makes you wonder how many times GM will rehash the same car over and over again.
