96 Buick PA Ultra steering difficult turning left
So I just had my driver'* side CV axle replaced, which fixed another problem. I've noticed since I got the car back it feels like the power steering doesn't work when I turn left. Under throttle it appears to be a little better, but when pulling into a parking spot with my foot off the pedal it is very difficult to turn. I would appreciate any help diagnosing and fixing this problem. Thanks in advance.

So, the problem was not there BEFORE the axle was replaced?
Does it have Magnasteer? If disconnected/not reconnected, would cause harder steering, but it should affect both directions....
Something binding on the side that was taken apart, like a tie rod end, or ball joint?

It definitely happened after the axle replacement. I'm not sure if I have magnasteer, I guess I'll have to check into that. One more test I ran today.... In park, I turned the wheel all the way to the right, everything was fine. When turning all the way to the left though was difficult. Then when turning all the way to the right again was totally smooth. I don't know much about suspension at all, but this is still baffling.

If you look at the spool valve on your rack, if there is a wire harness coming off it, you have Magnasteer and the end of the harness should be connected just above the axle, near the wheel well......but like I said, it would affect both sides/directions....
If fluid level is ok, usually when you can turn the wheel easily one way, and not the other, it'* the rack.....coincidence that it went out at the same time the axle was replaced?
