4T60E Have to feather throttle to keep it in OD?
Thanks all for the help and advice. I thought I should update everyone.
I finally drove the car and it works exactly as you guys describe it should be doing. My son said he is still driving around town in 3rd and saving OD for long runs or interstate driving. He also said that he has not noticed any oddities in the shifting while in 3rd. We have owned the car for less then a year and so perhaps we just noticed the RPM change with the converter lockup.
Again Thanks
Anna

Agreed, thanks for the update. I just set it in drive, and forget it. The only exception being mountain highway terrain and I am not satisfied with shifting behaviors (hunting, lugging, etc). As mentioned, if it'* around town, it will likely not use overdrive anyway until about 50mph. It'* best to simply view it as a 4th gear.
