I don't know if this is against the rules, but can anyone please help me diagnose what'* wrong with my car. I live in a new city all by myself with no resources at all and cannot get an OBD2.

Brief context before the pop: had been driving around with no coolant (over heating light was off the entire time) and was driving on the cruising on the freeway at 70mph. Pop noise happens and CEL flashes on, I get the car towed home and to my surprise it is still running. Sounds like a diesel engine now or a tractor.

Sorry to post this thread, I'm just worried now because management has threatened to tow my car and I cannot afford a mechanic. Sorry :/

Where are you located?

Sorry to break the bad news, but we are going to need you to get your car scanned for any codes. Any further diagnoses from here would be purely guesswork.

Compression test is in order.

How low was the coolant?

What was the temperature reading?

For how many miles or duration of time?

Did it still run at this point?

Sounds like a head gasket is blown really bad . .. or maybe a spark plug came out. Hard to tell without more video.
