i would guess its not one piece, since you changed a plug, must be there. could be that the two wires join there and you only put one back in the plug

thanks for your input guys. everything works on the instrument cluster along with everything else in the vehicle it is the backlight in the cluster that doesnt work. like burnt out bulbs. everything else works perfect on the instrument cluster tho. checked both instrument cluster fuses but to be safe will probably check all fuses in both fuse blocks.

I assume you have tried your dimmer control for the brightness of the cluster?

At night, moving the dimmer control has no effect? What about the HVAC and radio modules? Do they change when when you adjust the dimmer?

Checking all fuses is the first step, but if your I/P doesn't light, and the radio and HVAC lights up ok, sounds like a cluster problem....

Or is this only a problem in daylight?

my dimmer control does seem to work as it changes the backlight on the lcd screens along with the dimmnes on the radio.the hvac illumination doesnt work either so i hought maybe they may be connected.the hvac controller works good with all blower settings and mode settings.as i mentioned the lights(ilumination) on the hvac controller do not work. The issue is my customer couldnt read her mph at night. there should be a picture below.[IMG][/IMG]

Do you have a scan tool capable of reading "B" codes?

Does your scan tool have the ability to read data from the DIM and IPM?
