I was 90 miles away from home. I shut the car off for one minute and no crank. New battery good starter. I can jump starter at starter solenoid and relay. Cranks fine but no start. Key reads same resistance on wires as key so cylinder is good. I did order a new if switch and installed it. Have power to switch and thru switch. Vats maybe ? I'm looking for a wiring diagram. I tried the relearn on the ignition. I have no power at neutral safety switch on yellow or purple wire. The security light is solid on no flash. No crank help please. Ty
The steady security light typically indicates that the wrong resistance is read on the key, or there may be another more serious problem. If you have confirmed that the key is making a good steady connection, you may have to wait until you can get help with wiring.
A shot in the dark, have you tried pulling the battery for a while? There is nothing to lose at this point, because electronics. LOL. Just make sure if you have a delco loc stereo you make sure you don't have a code you have to worry about, because that makes battery disconnecting annoying if it comes up.

I don't think disconnecting the battery will help......the fact that your SECURITY or THEFT LIGHT is on solid, with the key in the on position, means there is a code set.......when you tested the wiring(resistance with key in ignition lock cylinder) up the column, did you test it at the 2 wire connector under the dash or at the harness connector, "C2", of the BCM?
Have you scanned for "B" and "P" codes?
My guess is you have a problem with the Passkey system.... that'* why when you jump the starter, it doesn't run because the injectors are not firing because the BCM is not sending a crank signal or a fuel enable signal to the PCM....
These are schematics for a 2000 Regal

When it was on the trailer I swung it bye O'Reilly. No communication with their scanner. I tested the resistance at the first connection under the dash.
Well, it'* not a good sign, when a scanner can't communicate with a vehicle......
first thing you have to do is check all fuses.....
Also, if you have a voltmeter, check at the 16 pin DLC connector for power/ground, #'* 4,5, and 16(power)......
Here is a good link for testing:
Diagnose NO Communication result of your scanner using diagnostic link connector

I tried about everything I could think of. What got me was unplugged the wire showed it was grounded. But when I plugged it back in it showed it was a partial ground on bcm. I have power to pcm on crank circuit and nothing on output on crank wire on pcm. In other words the crank circuit is controlled inside the pcm. But if bcm is bad could bcm keep the pcm from firing crank circuit since the security light is on ,?
