"erg"=EGR?

Can you upload a picture?

Code 18 is: Crank Signal Circuit

I'd check the crank position sensor and the circuit connected to it.

The code 18 is for crank sensor as cathedral says. It kind of like a crank cam correlation code. I have the flow chart and wiring diagrams for that system if you need it.

do not have camera but will try to get a picture for you .It is the exhaust tube that brings the exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold to the plastic upper intake manifold the tube has a plastic locking nut that has broken tabs on it witch hold the tube in place on the plastic intake manifold .have not found the part thinking of making a new locking nut for the intake is my best bet.replacing the cranks senor connector is bad thanks

I don't need a picture of the EGR and I don't think Cathedral needs it either. We know exactly what the EGR is and how it works. Your code has nothing to do with the EGR which is what we were pointing out to you. You seem to have a question but have not asked a question. Are you wanting to know what to do with the leak?

I'm not too sure about that code if I'm honest. I'll have to check the FSM, but I wouldn't worry about that code if the car is running fine. Honestly it really doesn't make any sense in this context as to why it'* even setting that code. When OBD 1 3800s puke a crank sensor, or related wiring, they tend to run badly, if at all. I don't believe that era of OBD 1 has the sense to check cam/crank correlation.
