michigan is about the same as here; this is what it looks like here today and most days in the winter. which is why i made sure a garage was top priority on picking a house. its not heated or well insulated but i have a kerosene heater that makes it so i can work in there in ten or 15 minutes

Hmmmm, Sounds Easier that It Actually is...
A Good description like this along with some photos would've gone a really long way for Me. Do anyone know of any other better write up on here with photos or at least diagram? I'm in the Process Of changing Mine, already at a Junkyard battling with the one I wanna use. But I'm having a hard time removing those knuckles up there where the column meets the rack, everything is basically off the car, Just that knuckle part. Idk how to go about removing it. do I sort of try to hammer off the pins that hold the last knuckle with the rack or what?.. I read alot about "removing the lower pinch bolt from intermediate shaft to disconnect it from the steering gear", But idk where this Pinch Bolt is, Any help there?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The pinch bolt clamps the knuckle to the rack & pinion input shaft spline BUT there is also a relief in the input shaft that the bolt fits in. Therefore you must remove the bolt to be able to separate the knuckle from the rack & pinion input shaft.
