Default Scurity system (stock)

(no starting, theft disabled)
Its buggering up, can I get away with just pulling the fuse/ unplugging the vatts?
or do i need a new vatts modual?

my 97 riv is having the same problem. It won't start with the key hardly ever anymore. Basically there is NO way to disable the system unfortunately. You can only "fool" it by taking the resistance of hte pellet in your key, and then placing a resistor in series to teh VATS wiring. You''ll have to cut the factory wiring to do it though. I have anothe rproblem though unforutnately. Even with the resistor in place it doesn't always start.

will new VATS box work? I have located (2) wreaked 91 riveras that have that modual.

the VATS box has to be built for the right key resistance. The ones you find from other cars have a 1 in 16 chance of being right.....

getting new keys cut, and new resister pallets will be easier then quessing when my vehicle will start.
I'm asking will a new VATS box work, i will not let this be another 3month problem, i want it over and done with.

I have come accross a vats bypass kit somewhere, will hunt around for it and get back as soon as I can?

Thank you kindly.. I found out any car stereo shop can do this, so i might run it into edmonton tomorrow, if it starts
about lunch? id love to, but as you may or may not know I hav'nt been here for a long time. Ive been overseas actually training guys to weld, i got picked because I have basicly all my welding tickets and some millwright tickets. 2 months in, 1 month out.. I'll be gone on the 10th of sept.
