Default Stock sound system in 97 SE

I have a 97 SE with what I believe is the premium sound system. I have a tweeter and a midrange on the front doors. Also the cd player has an equalizer on it. How good are the speakers that come stock.

They aren't.. Simple as that. Go aftermarket and you'll see an very big improvement in sound. If you have the gain control slider, make sure you don't hook the wrong wires up to your 6x9'*, because they are subwoofer hookups, and you'll have bad sound quality if you do that. Infinity Kappa'* are good but a little pricy, but shop around, and listen to different speakers. Go with what you like best. Oh if you have the Bose system, then you should definitly change the speakers, you'll have very highquality system then. I wish mine had the Bose system

The Bose Acoustimass system in my car is pretty sweet. 8 or 10 speakers I think, plus a really good bass module in the rear deck. The door speakers...are top notch...

Not all bone stock audio systems are crap, but if you really need it, aftermarket is always going to be better...if not they would have no business

Being paper cones, who knows how good a quality processor in the HU, and low power output, I didnt think that the stock was all that crappy. My buddy got a 03 Civic EX and the sound in that is horrible. Of course upgrading did make it sound incredible.
