I have a 92 se and the front speaker size is 4x6. I got some jbl'* off etronics.com. That site has great prices on car speakers.

My speakers also have static, but it is either the antenna or the radio because when I listen to tapes it doesn't happen.

Just a suggestion... I get a loud droning sound when my cell phone interferes with either the radio signal. This happens even when a CD is on and the antenna is up. Could be that. Soultion, keep the cell on the opposite side - away from the radio.

I know its not static, its like a buzzing. But that might be your problem.

The 1992 SSEi'* front speaks are 5 1/4 and the back are 6X9'*. DO NOT GET SONY'* they are horrible. If you are going to go for good speaks it depends on your budget. Low end of money but still great quality - Pioneer
Middle - JBL, Alpine etc.
High end - Boston Acoustic, Infinity KAppa'*
