Not my most aesthetically pleasing installation but given the tools I had available at the time to pull this off it'* amazing I even got it in there, and it accomplished my goal of being hidden. With the right tools and a little bit of patience, yours should look clean.

Got it all installed last night. Went to town with a dremel and looks like it was meant to be there. No signs of being hacked up at all, unless you take it all apart.

The sound, well, its amazing. Much better than before. One of those "can't believe I thought it sounded good before this" things. The sound is much brighter and clearer, and it looks great to boot. Now I'm debating doing the same for my wife'* new car (when we get it), instead of getting a "cheap" double din touchscreen.

Took a while, but I finally got it.

Now, if I could get that dash to sit flush with the radio, I wouldn't have that annoying gap underneath. I'm thinking of picking up a spare dash piece and cutting it a little bit so it would fit properly, but it might be difficult to do that without making it look really bad.

What would you say to someone who called Image Dynamics a flea market brand that has garbage specs in regard to SQ?

Let me guess someone told you to get JL?

Yeah no kidding.

Anyways, time to look for yet another new sub. Based on my excellent experience, I'm thinking of going with yet another ID sub.

Unless of course 04MonteLS wants to sell me his two ID10V3'*.

This sub was recommended over on diyma.com as an alternative to the IDQ10V3 I was considering:
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=295-462

Any thoughts?

lol@w-body drama.

To be honest, I've been wanting to try the Dayton HO'* for years. Of course not having money means I haven't, but doesn't mean you couldn't for us =P

The problem is, while it might be loud, it might not be as transparent. Transparent as I noted on w-body is getting in your car, turning up the bass, and saying "WTF" to yourself because you hear nothing, when in reality you hear the bass but you don't hear the sub driver itself. The bass just seems to come from...everywhere. That'* a quality of a true SQ sub, and that'* something the Image Dynamics subs do that only other much more expensive subs do and that you don't find very often at all.

I'm afraid if I were to get the Dayton subs, I would be disappointed if I found out that their level of transparency sucked. I know the first time I turned these subs on, I thought there was no bass, when in reality I heard the bass just fine, I just didn't hear the driver itself.
