I have a 2000 SSEi. I Recently purchased a double din Eonon(Japanese company) Head unit.I got all the wires hooked up and the head unit looks great but I'm not getting any sound from the speakers. I just had a Sony head unit in there and the speakers were on and working fine but I put that one in there a year ago and when I took it out I wasn't paying close attention to the connection of each wire.
So now I have this new head unit all hooked up and its comes on and everything and my sub even comes on but the speakers come only come on for 5 seconds when I first start the car. I have the correct harness and I definitely have the pre-outs for the speaker plugged up. I have the ground, the red and the yellow connected but I have a feeling that I'm missing something along the lines of the Factory amp. Can someone please point me the right direction. Thanks

Well, the SSEi has the BOSE system. The system requires a power wire to be connected for the speakers to operate. The external amp has to have this power signal to come on and stay on. (The reason that the speakers only come on for a few seconds is that the external amp goes through a test phase.) Im not sure of the color of the wire. I had this same problem with my nephews old Maxima. Im not sure of the GM models of Bose. But, the way I had to trace the wire that triggers the amp was to take the leftover wires and touch them to the remote trigger. (Just be sure NOT to touch the orange wire. This wire controls the illumination lighting for stereos that have that option.)
