My old CD player (RFX 2000 i think) kinda wasn't what it used to be, and doesn't have much for expandability like my new Alpine. The RF didn't match my car well, because it was silver against the dash trim which isn't. The alpine matches much better save the buttons.

There was no aux input, the pre-amps weren't as clean as my new deck, the speaker level outputs aren't as strong as one of the better decks out there. They do match nice, but in the end i bought a new one that didn't match that did what i want

My pioneer is blue but I would rather have function over looks. I drive with the screen flipped down most of the time anyways

I was thinking of getting this head unit http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

Think I should see if I can find a red light up kind instead?

Mine has the blue display screen yet still looks awesome. Most people don't say anything about it, and people love to critisize my car.

I have this exact headunit. I'll take a picture if you would like, although I have a '95 so it will look different in a '01.

I love it and it is great especially if you have an iPod. The lower models don't have the **** that this one has for iPod scrolling.

I dont mind it at all, if i wanted to go cheap. Then i would have tryed and stayed red but i wanted to go with something i liked. So i went with this. Im planning on adding some blue LED'* here and there this spring. Dont know where but somewhere to give it some balance.
